One brand made up of three experts

Fluo – A New Name In The Hi-Fi World

At the most recent High End Audio Show in Munich, an exciting – at least to hi-fi scene experts – new brand was created, under the name "Fluo".

"Fluo" is stated to mean "Fast Linear Ultimate Operation", while also suggesting "Flow". Under this new brand, three hi-fi experts came together who have repeatedly garnered attention through special, uncompromising and innovative approaches that paid off in the highest sound quality: Keith Martin, Kurt Olbert and Ole Lund Christensen.

Several products were presented so far, but have not yet gone into series production. That includes a power amplifier planned in three versions (DM125/DM250/M500), coming with a unique N channel MOSFET concept. Here, Ole Lund Christensen wants to perfect his solution of the "single MOSFET amplifier", already pursued with the legendary, first SLT 250 power amp and successors such as the SiriuS DM200 and other GamuT amps. The amp is supposed to drive even enormously complex and low-impedance loads just above the short circuit point with high power (2x 250, 2x 500 watts in dual mono and 1x 1000 watts into 4 ohms as mono version), with internal resistances stated to be at around 0.02 ohms; the model is also claimed to be extremely broadband and able to easily control any speaker. The associated, adequate preamplifier PRE1 also already exists in the portfolio.

Keith Martin is the mastermind and managing director at Isotek Systems, one of the leading suppliers of power conditioners, which was founded in 1999. He is supposed to contribute his in-depth knowledge as an industrial designer and marketing expert in addition to his technical expertise.

They are joined by Kurt Olbert, an expert in mechanics, materials and absorption/diffusion as well as damping. He has made a name for himself with his own company Clearlight Audio, producing high-performance racks and loudspeakers, but above all also OEM turntable developments (e.g. Thorens) and the compound material RDC, which he invented. His Fluo turntable "Jubilee" shown at High End is said to be characterized by optimized use of materials, completely new approaches in details, maximum flexibility through modular construction, maximum adjustability as well as adaptability; which is, of course, said to produce breathtaking sound.

All of the devices presented will likely have a price tag somewhere in the five-figure range.
